WHO IS CECILIA

CECILIA RUICHEN ZHANG is a bilingual producer and director based in New York City. She holds a BA in Theater Directing from UC Santa Barbara where she worked in 10+ stage plays as Director, Assistant Director, Stage Manager, and Actor. After discovering her interest in cinematic storytelling, Cecilia is now pursuing an MFA in Film Creative Producing at Columbia University. Cecilia is devoted to creating stories of self-discovery and identity-building. Her works particularly focus on exploring the intersection of Asian and Western cultures, highlighting women’s challenges, and amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities. 

Cecilia works as the Screening Committee at Hamptons International Film Festival (Oscar and BAFTA qualifying), the Production Coordinator at Columbia University Film Program, the Festival Coordinator (2025) and Student Select Committee (2024) of Columbia University Film Festival, and Script Development Intern at Alta Global Entertainment.
